The BRC (Basic RiderCourse) - is approximatley 15 hours long. 5 (five) hours class room. 10 (ten) hours riding time. These times are approximate due to students are here to learn and we are here to teach. These times do not included lunches and breaks.
We furnish the Motorcycle and all the materials to get you throught the classroom. We also have helmets and gloves that you are welcome to use if you do not have your own. If you do have your own, the helmet must be D.O.T. approved. And the gloves must be full fingered. You must provided eye protection (i.e. glasses, sun glasses, goggles, or faceshield), long sleeves, long pants, and over the ankle foot wear (i.e.) high top tennis shoes or boots) (no Converse tennis shoes) some thing that suports and protects your ankles. If you are missing any of these items, you can not ride. (sorry!).
During the class, you will be given a written and riding test. Once you have passed both of these tests and have completed all portions of the course. We will add you to the State's DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) Data Web base system showing that you have completed the Basic RiderCourse. You will then take your Drivers License to the DMV. DMV will then add your endorsement to your license
We charge $195.00 for the course. you can sign up and pay here on line or call the office and sign up over the phone by using a Visa, Master Card, or American Express. Or you can come into the office and sign up and pay with cash or check. Keep in mind that it is first come first serve. So the sooner you get signed up, the sooner you can get into the class that you want.
The Motorcycles that we use are Honda Rebel 250's, Honda Knight Hawk 250's, Suzuki GZ250's, Kawasaki Eliminator 125's, 50cc Scooters, and 150cc Scooters. The scooters are for those who can not ride a motorcycle for various reasons. if you need a scooter, you must call or come into the office. You can not sing up on line if you want to use a scooter
You must be able to ride a Bicycle for balance. Must have a Valid Drivers License or at least a valid Drivers Learners Permit.l As of July 01, 2008, any one wanting to obtain a Motorcycle Endorsement in the State of Florida must take the Basic RiderCourse. There is no other way to obtain an Endorsement in Florida. Must be at least 16 years old with a cars Drivers Learners Permit. If under the age of 18 years old, you must have have parent or guardians signature prior to the riding portion of the class.
